The Florida Department of Health in Desoto County (DOH-Desoto) offers family planning and related preventive health services to males and females, including teens, on a voluntary basis in a confidential manner.
Family Planning is a program that provides quality, low cost, and easily accessible reproductive health care. DOH-Desoto provides education, counseling, medical services, referrals, and follow up visits as needed.
Services include:
- Treatment of STIs
- Comprehensive family planning care for clients of child bearing age and status
- Referrals for specialty care for colposcopy and cryosurgery procedures and follow up for abnormal PAP tests
- Low cost or no cost pregnancy testing
- Developing your Reproductive Life Plan is an important part of your care
- Emphasis on education for prevention of STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) including HIV and healthy lifestyle choices
