Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are serious, sometimes painful infections that can cause severe damage to your body if not treated properly. Some may affect the reproductive health organs and can cause sterility, whereas others can cause damage throughout the entire body. Don’t let this happen to you. Get checked. Ask your doctor about being tested for STIs and HIV regularly.
The Florida Department of Health in DeSoto County (FDOH-DeSoto) provides testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. The investigation includes notifying contacts (anonymously), providing testing, treatment and case management as indicated.
