Immunizations (shots) prevent disease in those who receive them. Vaccines reduce the risk of infection by working with the body's natural defenses to develop immunity to disease.
FDOH-DeSoto offers the following vaccines for children:
- DTap
- Hepatitis B
- HIB
- Rotavirus
- Meningococcal (Menactra)
- MMR (Measles/Mumps/Rubella)
- Pneumococcal (Prevnar)
- Polio
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- Hepatitis A
- Tetanus/Diphtheria
- TdaP
- HPV (Human Papillomavirus) – Gardasil
Who is Eligible?
Children from birth through 18 years of age. They MUST be accompanied by parent/legal guardian.
What is the Fee?
Vaccines for Children immunizations are provided to children who meet program eligibility at no cost to the parent/guardian. We accept Medicaid and insurance.
Is an Appointment Required?
An appointment is recommended to prevent wait times.
What should I bring with me? (i.e. for eligibility, etc.)
- A valid photo I.D. (such as a Driver’s License)
- Your child’s insurance card
- Your child’s shot records (if you have moved to Florida from out of state)
Adult Vaccinations:
We provide a limited amount of adult vaccines. Most vaccines are available at pharmacies.
Travel Vaccinations:
Not provided in DeSoto County. Contact the Sarasota County Department of Health at 941-861-3820.
Clinic Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 12 pm and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
